ICEpower module updates – Taking Class D to the next level!

If you have followed ICEpower this year, you know a lot has happened. We have been sharing our story as an advancing first-mover company within Class D amplification. You have read the articles and Social Media posts about The Conductor and ICC5 (for more info, please find links at the bottom). We have had some of our most excellent engineers work on it, with our CTO Patrik Boström in the lead, leading to outstanding results.

We are combining these new technologies and bringing them out to our customers by updating some of our finest amplifiers to make them even better!

Where to Start?

Of course, we want to update our modules to become the best with the new technologies. But we have to take one step at a time. So, we have chosen the following champions to get the new makeover first:

50ASX2 – 125ASX2 – 700AS1 – 700AS2

Then, step by step, more modules will follow, and we will announce them as we go for you to follow this innovative journey.

New versions vs old versions – Should existing customers worry?

Not at all! We make sure that everything from form to function and fit will match so you can implement them in your audio solutions without making any alterations to the design.

Long term Commitment to the Audio Industry

As you know, some of our modules have worked in different audio solutions since the 2000s and are still going strong amplifing sound everywhere. We put great excellence and effort into product maintenance, so when we say we commit to the industry, we follow through and keep up our product maintenance year after year.

Throughout our history as an audio company, we have rarely discontinued our modules. The only instances where a module has reached End of Life (EOL) have been when we have engineered and introduced a significantly superior alternative. Our focus is always on continuous improvement, ensuring that any replacement offers enhanced performance, efficiency, and reliability, meeting the evolving needs of our customers and the industry.

What can you Expect?

We asked our CTO Patrik Boström about what customers can expect from the new module updates, and he commented:

“The amplifier topology used is brand new and based on >20 years of experience and research. The distortion is much lower at high frequencies and the output impedance is almost constant in the audio band giving a load-independent gain vs frequency. The sound is quite different than from previous models, especially the ASX-series which was based on the first technology invented by ICEpower more than 20 years ago. We have also trimmed the energy consumption where we can which has led to a 10-15% reduction of heat emission”
