ICEpower’s new power supply offers massive, efficient power at a competitive price
Today we are proud to announce the debut of our new 1500S Switch Mode Power Supply Module. A present to any installer who doesn’t want to break the bank or their back in order to harness, real, sustainable power. It is the latest and most powerful power supply that ICEpower has ever created.
The 1500S is designed to take advantage of our years of switch mode power supply design experience as well as the newest and most capable components, to provide the user an extremely competent power supply. A product that does not settle with solely providing the bare minimum. The 1500S is powerful and versatile, and can be used, not just for multichannel amps, but also for high-powered line arrays, subwoofers and 70V/100V solutions.
ICEpower has managed to design a power supply capable of matching traditional heavy toroidal transformer performance, but in a light, compact and efficient switch mode design. Enabling high powered, multi-channel installations (8 channels and up!) to be done without the need of a back brace for installation, a full rack of several separate units or the fear of not having enough juice..

At ICEpower we believe in the power of music and seek to improve the user experience of our clients. Today it becomes increasingly common to have speakers in all rooms of a home, hence why we believe that the sound quality and clean power on hand is key.
Once the party starts, the last thing you want is for the music to shut down. Nobody wants the booming sound of bombs dropping to drop out at the climax of the movie. As home theaters become more advanced and installed speakers become more capable; sustained and real, long term power is what really keeps the party rolling. Conversely smaller/cheaper amplifiers that crack under the pressure of the crescendo can be the ultimate mood killer.
The old way to create these types of dramatic experiences traditionally involved a lot of rack space and a lot of expense. Multiple large amps with heavy power supplies, brute forcing the experience, while taking up valuable rack space and consuming power.
ICEpower set out to design a power supply capable of matching traditional heavy toroidal transformer performance, but in a light, compact and efficient switch mode design. Enabling high powered, multi-channel installations (8 channels and up!) to be done without the need of a back brace for installation, a full rack of several separate units or the fear of not having enough juice.
Features and performance
The 1500S is a 1500w power supply, capable of peaking 2400w while sustaining 1200w power as measured by the incredibly tough FTC standard. This sustaining power capability is significantly higher than other similarly rated available power supplies. This capability has been accomplished by basing the 1500S on ICEpower’s latest dual stage PFC + LLC switch mode power supply topology.
The 1500S offers a split rail supply (+/-), enabling the use of single ended amplifiers and is available at three different rail voltages (+/- 47V, +/- 57V and +/- 69V). If you require different rail voltages, we are also able to provide custom versions. It also has an on board 60W auxiliary power converter for powering even the most demanding digital preamps and network interfaces.
Like all ICEpower products, the 1500S comes with a full set of protection features and is compliant with all the latest EMC, EMI, and safety standards.
Combined with amplifiers like our new 300A2, 400A2 or Engine400, one can easily design a multichannel 12x200w amplifier, capable of peaking max output on every channel at once or even sustaining 12x100w nearly forever. Use a couple of the 400A2 bridged for a high-powered stereo amplifier, a high-power amplifier stage for a line array or subwoofer or one of our 70V/100V amplifier designs for a bullet proof 70v/100V commercial or outdoor audio amplifier.
Customization and turnkey solutions
If you don’t have the time or resources to develop all the products on your roadmap in-house, ICEpower is capable of developing and supplying products on a turnkey basis..
