What is a Hillbilly?
“Hillbilly” is what folks call the good ol’ mountain people, mostly the ones livin’ up in the Appalachian hills, stretchin’ across Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. These folks are mainly the kin of Irish immigrants who hightailed it to America back in the 1850s when the potato crops in Ireland went belly-up.
